With temperatures dropping faster than most of us locals care for, the beautiful Mammoth Lakes fall colors are fast approaching. This is one of my favorite times of year in Mammoth Lakes, as the tourism is slow and the anticipation of winter is in everyone’s thoughts. All the aspen trees start running their course with their big beautiful green leaves changing over to golden shades of yellows, reds, and golds. This is when the Mammoth Lakes fall colors are the most amazing. If you’ve never been to Mammoth Lakes during this time of year, it is highly recommended that you make it a priority. With October being our slowest month for tourism, lodging is always at its lowest prices.
There are two great ways to see these spectacular fall colors in Mammoth Lakes and the surrounding areas. One way is within the comfort of your car and the other is to get out their and go for a hike. No matter which one you choose, it’s always a good idea to bring along a camera, so you can capture the beauty of the Eastern Sierra.
